What does a 3hr session entail?

Our sessions are designed to give you hands-on, practical acting experience while keeping your skills sharp and your instincts active. Each session focuses on scene work in pairs, helping you explore character, technique, and performance in a supportive environment. Just like a gym for actors, consistent practice ensures you maintain your edge and continue growing as a performer.

Here’s how a usual 3-hour session works:

Before the Session:

  • The night before, participants receive a call sheet and scripts via email.

  • You’ll be asked to learn either Character A or Character B’s lines ahead of time so you’re prepared to jump straight in.

During the Session:

  1. Introduction (15 minutes):

    • Quick warm-up, overview of the session, and settling in.

  2. Script 1 – Cold Performance:

    • Participants are randomly paired and perform the first script straight away, with no prior rehearsal.

    • After each performance, we discuss and dissect choices, giving constructive feedback to help sharpen instincts.

  3. Script 2 – Technique Focus:

    • Participants are assigned characters and a specific acting technique to apply.

    • We perform the scene and then discuss what worked, what could improve, and how the technique influenced the performance.

  4. Final Run – Clarity & Intention:

    • We return to Script 1, this time incorporating clear direction and intentional choices.

    • Performances are revisited, refined, and discussed to solidify learning and build confidence.

By the end of the session, you’ll leave with a deeper understanding of character work, stronger instincts, and practical tools to carry into auditions or performances. Every part of the process is designed to challenge you, inspire growth, and keep your acting skills sharp.
